Arsenal and Manchester City in the Community Shield in Cardiff on Sunday with both sides looking to lay down an early marker.
Last season, Arsenal claimed their first Premier League title in 22 years after edging out City in an absorbing battle at the top of the table.
City secured their place in this curtain-raiser by winning the FA Cup, adding to the EFL Cup crown they secured earlier in the season.
Both sides have strengthened over the summer and head into the new season expected to fight it out once again.
